Where we are coming from

This site reads Scripture from within the Presbyterian Church in America, using the redemptive-historical method associated with Tim Keller and Edmund Clowney. Where the PCA has spoken, we follow it. Where it has deliberately left a question open, that latitude is itself the position, and we present the range rather than pick a side.

What we hold

Scripture
Inerrant, sufficient, self-authenticating (WCF 1).
The gospel
Justification by faith alone, on Christ’s imputed righteousness — forensic, not transformative (WCF 11).
Covenant
One covenant of grace, differently administered (WCF 7).
Method
Exegesis before application, always. What the text meant to its first hearers, and only then what it asks of us.

What the PCA leaves open

The days of creation
Calendar-day, day-age, framework and analogical readings are all held by faithful PCA ministers. The 2000 Creation Study Committee reported unanimously while its members differed. We present the range.
Eschatology
Amillennial and postmillennial views are both common; historic premillennialism is present. No position is required.
Miraculous gifts
Continuation and cessation are both held, though the PCA is broadly non-charismatic in practice.
Sabbath observance
Held pastorally rather than rigorously, within WCF 21.

Honesty

Every factual claim here traces to a named source. Where the sources are silent or disagree, the text says so. Every day is written, then read by a person, before it appears.
